Recently, Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People¡¯s Court and East China University of Political Science and Law (¡°ECUPL¡±) held a signing ceremony of strategic cooperation framework agreement, and exchanged views on how to promote the organic integration of legal education and judicial practice under the background of reform of the judicial system with comprehensive integrated reforms. Ye Qing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of ECUPL, Ying Peili, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of ECUPL, Zhou Lizhi, ECUPL Vice President, Huang Xiangqing, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People¡¯s Court, Liu Li, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People¡¯s Court, and persons in charge of relevant functional departments of two sides attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Vice President Liu Li. At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary Ying Peili and Vice President Liu Li signed the cooperation agreement. During the communication, Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People¡¯s Court introduced to ECUPL the main initiatives to promote the reform of the operation mechanism of adjudicative power recently. The participants also had an in-depth exchange on how to deepen the cooperation between courts and universities, optimize the resource complementation, and make joint efforts to provide intellectual support for the reform of the judicial system with comprehensive integrated reforms. President Ye Qing pointed out that the profound cooperation relationship between ECUPL and Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People¡¯s Court has laid a good foundation for further deepening the cooperation between two sides. In the next step, he put forward three expectations. First, expand the cooperation field for common development. The two sides should strengthen the depth and width of cooperation in terms of mutual communication mechanism, key topic undertaking, and education and practice base to achieve higher objectives. Second, complement superior resources with each other to enhance brand characteristics. Both sides should further dig up superior resources, promote resource complementation and build characteristic projects to strive to form a law talent co-culturing brand that has widespread influence in the judicial system. Third, strengthen cooperation management and optimize the cooperation mechanism. The two sides should actively explore new ideas and new ways of cooperation and innovation between the courts and universities, and try to form an effective, orderly and fruitful cooperation mechanism.
