On June 1, 2023, the Shanghai Chongming District People¡¯s Court (hereinafter referred to as ¡°Chongming Court¡±) invited more than 40 students from YSFX Chongming Jiangfan Primary School for its Open Day activities in celebration of the International Children¡¯s Day.

The students visited the litigation service center of the new trial business building, the cultural wall, the court history hall, the legal education base, ZHI QU cultural space, and other places, and were initiated into the court¡¯s litigation service, functions, and culture.

After the visit, the Chongming Court had students play ¡°judge¡±, ¡°prosecutor¡±, ¡°defense lawyer¡± and ¡°defendant¡± and held a mock trial of a criminal case over intellectual property. Through an immersive experience of the whole process of court hearings, the students acquired more legal knowledge related to intellectual property protection.

Chen Kaihua, director of moral education of Jiangfan Primary School, said that the Open Day activities offered a great opportunity for the students to know more about the court. As they came to the court personally, feel the court culture, attend the mock trial, and listen to judges¡¯ interpretation, the students were initiated into the significance of protecting intellectual property, felt in person the justice and majesty of the law, and became aware of the rule of law.
