Barrier-Free Legal Assistance: Huangpu District People's Court and District Disabled Persons' Federation Sign Cooperation Memorandum
[2025-04-27]

Recently, under the guidance and support of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Huangpu District Committee, the Huangpu District People's Court and the Huangpu District Disabled Persons' Federation jointly held a cooperation symposium titled "Barrier-Free Legal Assistance."

During the event, the two parties signed a Cooperation Memorandum on "Barrier-Free Legal Assistance". The two parties reached a consensus in six key areas: establishing a regular communication mechanism, providing tailored litigation services, safeguarding the efficient realization of litigation rights, improving diversified dispute resolution for disability-related cases, jointly conducting legal awareness campaigns, and constructing a barrier-free litigation service environment. This initiative further upgrades the Court¡¯s barrier-free litigation services, building upon the existing "Love & Strength" ¨C Barrier-Free Judicial Safeguard Project for Persons with Disabilities program.

Next, building on the momentum of China¡¯s "National Day of Assisting Disabled Persons", the two parties will deepen collaboration and launch a series of themed initiatives under "Barrier-Free Legal Assistance" to ensure persons with disabilities enjoy equal, full, and convenient access to judicial proceedings. These efforts aim to refine the judicial service system for persons with disabilities and promote substantive, diversified resolution of disability-related disputes.

The Huangpu District People's Court, while consolidating its achievement of "full coverage of litigation services in comprehensive governance centers," will continue prioritizing vulnerable groups¡ªincluding the elderly, youth, and persons with disabilities¡ªto further refine and enhance its barrier-free litigation services.
