SHPC Held Wrap-up Meeting on Educational Rectification among Shanghai Courts

On February 16, the Shanghai High People's Court ("SHPC") held a wrap-up meeting on the educational rectification among Shanghai courts to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on consolidating and deepening the educational rectification in law enforcement and judicial fields, earnestly implement the deployments made at the wrap-up meetings on educational rectification among national judicial, procuratorial, and public security organs, among national courts, and among Shanghai judicial, procuratorial, and public security organs, comprehensively summarize the achievements and experience of Shanghai courts in educational rectification, consolidate and deepen the achievements, and further enforce full, rigorous self-discipline within the Party and police force. Liu Xiaoyun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, President and Leadership of the Educational Rectification Steering Group of the SHPC, group members and bureau-level cadres of the SHPC and various intermediate courts, presidents of primary courts, president of the PLA Shanghai Military Court, department heads of high courts, some  NPC deputies, CPPCC members, special supervisors and invited consultants of high courts attended the meeting at the main venue, while other members of the educational rectification steering groups and all staff of the general offices of intermediate and primary courts attended the meeting via video at their respective courts. The meeting was chaired by Mao Ronghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Vice President, Deputy Head of the Educational Rectification Steering Group and Director of the General Office of the SHPC.

Liu Xiaoyun pointed out that the SHPC Party Leadership Group has, according to the deployments of the Central Committee, Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and SPC, and under the powerful supervision of the Sixth CPC Steering Group, organized all permanent police officers from 23 Shanghai courts to participate in the educational rectification campaign in two batches. A series of deep-rooted problems were effectively addressed, a few black sheep were resolutely eliminated, a group of advanced models were selected and a number of institutional achievements were made. In terms of the next step, Liu stressed that all Shanghai courts should further consolidate and expand the achievements of educational rectification, explore effective ways for the self-revolution of  court team in the new era, comprehensively improve the ability of serving the overall situation, implementing justice for the people and impartial administration of justice, so as to provide more powerful judicial services and safeguards for Shanghai to accelerate its efforts to build itself into a modern socialist international metropolis with world influence. We should focus on building political loyalty, educate and guide all police officers to transform the "two establishment" requirements into practical actions to fulfill their duties, and strengthen the ideological and political construction in judicial field. We should consolidate the achievements of educational consolidation, systematically integrate effective innovative measures, and continuously strengthen and improve the work of courts. We should practice justice for the people, constantly improve the level of our litigation services, more actively solve the prominent problems reflected by the masses, and comprehensively improve people's sense of gain and satisfaction towards judicial services. We should be strict and caring, strictly implement the "four-responsibility coordination" mechanism, "three rules" and "ten prohibitions", etc., so as to build a loyal, clean and responsible court team.
