On the afternoon of May 26, participants from the 9th Training Course of the China-South Asia Legal Training Base and the inaugural Training Course for Young Legal Talents of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) visited the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court (SHPC). Pushpa Gautam Bhusal, President of the Nepal Law Society and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, joined the visit as a trainee. Wang Yuzhan, Vice President of the SHPC, held a meeting with the delegation from the Training Courses.

Vice President Wang Yuzhan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the basic situation of Shanghai's courts to the participants. He noted that Shanghai is the birthplace of the SCO, and that Shanghai courts have maintained longstanding friendly ties with the judicial communities of SCO member states. He expressed the hope that the visit would help deepen member states¡¯ understanding of China¡¯s national context and legal culture, and further promote judicial exchange and cooperation.

President Bhusal thanked the SHPC for its warm reception and spoke highly of the important role Shanghai courts have played in supporting economic development and advancing social governance. She noted that during a visit by Chinese judges to Nepal last year, both sides held in-depth discussions on judicial issues and achieved fruitful outcomes. She expressed hope that this visit would further strengthen channels for international judicial exchange with Shanghai courts, promote the integration and sharing of theoretical and practical insights, and deepen friendly cooperation.

Prior to the meeting, participants toured the SHPC¡¯s criminal and civil courtrooms and received a briefing on the development of Shanghai¡¯s digital court.
