


On the afternoon of June 19th, the "International Symposium on the Rule of Law in Financial Regulation" at the 2025 Lujiazui Forum was successfully held in Shanghai. Liu Guixiang, the Standing Member of the Adjudication Committee of the Supreme People's Court, and Jia Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai High People's Court, attended the event and delivered speeches. Lin Xiaonie, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the SHPC, presided over the symposium and provided a concluding summary. More than 200 representatives, including well-known scholars from the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, as well as experts from government departments, regulatory agencies, judicial organs, arbitration institutions, financial infrastructure and universities, attended the symposium.
Themed "International Rule of Law Practices and Prospects in Financial Openning-up and Cooperation," the symposium featured keynote speeches by prominent figures such as Rimsky Yuen, Former Secretary for Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Grand Bauhinia Medal recipient; Ge Hongtao, the Senior Judge of the Second Rank from the Second Civil Division of the Supreme People's Court; Shamlan Al Sawalehi, Justice of the DIFC Courts; Cao Guangqun, Deputy Director General of the Shanghai Regulatory Bureau of the National Financial Regulatory Administration; Siraj Omar, the Board Member of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre; and Zhao Hong, President of the Shanghai Financial Court. The participating experts and scholars focused on hot topics such as the innovation of financial judicial adjudication mechanisms, the coordination of domestic and international legal rules, and the judicial and regulatory responses to financial risk prevention in the context of high-level financial openness. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on how to leverage international legal means to promote the sound and stable development of financial openness and cooperation.
