On the morning of November 25, the closing ceremony of the first Shanghai Training Program for Foreign-Related Adjudication Talent was held at the East China University of Political Science and Law. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Shanghai High People's Court, attended the closing ceremony and delivered remarks. Paul Lam Ting-kwok, Secretary for Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Xiao Kai, President of the East China University of Political Science and Law, delivered speeches. Wang Liqiu, Member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Director of the Political Department of the Shanghai High People's Court, presided over the ceremony.

In his remarks, President Jia Yu pointed out that holding this training program is both an important measure to implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and a meaningful exploration for deepening rule-of-law exchanges between Shanghai and Hong Kong. He expressed the hope that this training program would serve as an opportunity to continuously deepen rule-of-law exchange and cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong, and to jointly cultivate world-class foreign-related rule-of-law professionals. He also expressed the hope that the participants would apply the results of this training program to continuously enhance their capabilities in foreign-related rule of law, develop a number of typical cases with exemplary and leading significance in the international arena, and further enhance the credibility and influence of China's foreign-related adjudication.

This training program was guided by the Supreme People's Court and co-hosted by the Shanghai High People's Court and the Hong Kong International Legal Talents Training Academy, with the East China University of Political Science and Law serving as the organizer. Since the establishment of the Hong Kong International Legal Talents Training Academy at the Department of Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in November 2024, this program marked the first time that the Academy had carried out training for the court system in the Mainland. Approximately one hundred judges from courts in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui participated in the two-and-a-half-day training.
