On the morning of November 24, the Shanghai First
Intermediate People's Court, together with the Xi'an Intermediate People's
Court, the Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and the East
China University of Political Science and Law, jointly held the 4th session of
the "Criminal Knowledge and Practice Seminar ¡¤ Four-Party Dialogue among
Prosecution, Defense, Judiciary, and Academy", with the theme of
"Discussion on Difficult Issues in Criminal Cases Involving
Enterprises". Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and
President of the Shanghai High People's Court and President of the Chinese
Association of Criminal Law, and Han Deyang, Party Secretary and President of
the Shaanxi High People's Court, attended the event. More than 100 experts and
scholars from the Shanghai High People's Court, the Shaanxi High People's
Court, the Shanghai First Intermediate People's Court and courts within its
jurisdiction, the Xi'an Intermediate People's Court, the First Branch of the
Shanghai People's Procuratorate, the Xi'an People's Procuratorate, the Xi'an
Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Shanghai Bar Association, the Chinese
Association of Criminal Law, the People's Court News and Media Agency, the
Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University,
Renmin University of China, the Northwest University of Political Science and
Law, the East China University of Political Science and Law, Nanjing Normal
University, and other institutions attended the conference. The meeting was
presided over by Wu Jinshui, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and
President of the Shanghai First Intermediate People's Court.
The participants engaged in extensive discussions around the
seminar theme, drawing on eight typical cases. Following the discussion, under
the moderation of Sun Wanhuai, Dean of the School of Criminal Law of the East
China University of Political Science and Law and Executive Council Member of
the Chinese Association of Criminal Law, Wang Zhengxun, Vice President of the
Chinese Association of Criminal Law, and Huang Xiangqing, Deputy Director of
the Social and Legal Affairs Committee of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the
CPPCC and Member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Association of
Criminal Law, respectively delivered concluding comments.
