Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Shanghai High People's Court, attended a seminar on deeply implementing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law.

On the afternoon of December 18, a seminar on deeply implementing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law was held at the Shanghai High People's Court. The seminar was hosted by the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs and organized by the Shanghai High People's Court and the Shanghai Law Society. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Shanghai High People's Court, Liu Min, Deputy Director of the China Applied Jurisprudence Institute under the Supreme People's Court, and Ye Qing, Vice President of the China Law Society, attended the seminar and delivered speeches. Zhang Wenxian, the chief convener of the Ministry of Education's major project—"Studies of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law," and President Jia Yu delivered keynote speeches respectively. Jiang Ping, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Shanghai Law Society, gave an academic summary. Zhang Lei, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs, presided over the seminar, while Lu Weimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Shanghai High People's Court, presided over the keynote speeches and thematic discussions. The attendees included the relevant supervisors from the Supreme People's Court, the China Law Society, and the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs; and the relevant supervisors from the Municipal Law-based Governance Office, various municipal political and legal departments, the Shanghai Law Society, the Committees of Political and Legal Affairs of various districts, and various basic-level courts; as well as some deputies to the National and Municipal People's Congresses in Shanghai, CPPCC members, experts and scholars; representative heroes and model workers from various municipal political and legal departments, representatives of the legal service teams for enterprises, representatives of the outstanding award-winning cases of international adjudication, and media representatives.

At the seminar, the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Municipal Justice Bureau, and the Putuo and Jinshan Districts' Committees of Political and Legal Affairs shared their exploratory practices in upholding and developing the Fengqiao Model in the new era, improving diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, vigorously promoting the "trinity collaboration of police stations, judicial institutes and law firms" and the "comprehensive governance center development," and in consolidating the foundation for sound governance of urban areas. Their discussions were centered around the subject of "Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law Guides Safe Shanghai Development." The Shanghai High People's Court, the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, the Municipal Law-based Governance Office, the Shanghai Law Society, the Pudong District Committee of Political and Legal Affairs, and the Shanghai Bar Association carried out discussions on the subject of "Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law Guides Law-Based Shanghai Development." They introduced their experiences and practices under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law in the aspects of optimizing law-based business environment, strengthening intellectual property protection, enhancing the cultivation of international adjudication personnel, and conducting solid studies of law in order to serve and protect Shanghai's high-quality development with high-level rule-of-law cultivation. The participating departments shared their thoughts and exchanged ideas on how to further implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law in the future, and put forward many constructive innovative insights.
