On the afternoon of December 24, the Seminar of Shanghai Courts on Safeguarding Rights and Interests of Military Personnel was held at the Shanghai High People's Court. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Shanghai High People's Court, and Xu Bin, Major General, Deputy Political Commissar and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Shanghai Garrison, as well as Zhu Changyun, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs, attended the seminar and delivered speeches. The seminar was chaired by Wang Guangxian, Vice President of the Shanghai High People's Court. Lin Xiaonie and Wang Yuzhan, members of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Presidents of the Shanghai High People's Court, attended the seminar.

In his speech, President Jia Yu pointed out that the people's army is the impregnable Great Wall of the Party and the country, and it is an important duty of the people's courts to resolutely safeguard national defense interests and the legitimate rights and interests of military personnel and their families through high-quality justice. We must strengthen our political responsibility and carry out thorough practical work in safeguarding the rights and interests of military personnel from a high-level judicial stance. We should consciously incorporate the Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military and the Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, as the "guiding principle" and the "soul", into the entire process of military-related adjudication work, and promote, through high-quality judicial practices, the effective implementation of the policies on supporting the military and honoring servicemen's families. We must focus on fairness and justice, doing the best to safeguard the security and stability of national defense army through high-quality adjudication. We will resolutely punish military-related crimes that damage national defense interests, earnestly and wholeheartedly safeguard the rights and interests of military personnel and their families, continuously intensify judicial efforts in protecting heroes and martyrs, and enhance talent training for specialized military-related adjudication. We must uphold reform and innovation, and foster a Shanghai model for safeguarding the rights and interests of military personnel through high-level mechanisms. We should promote diversified resolution of military-related disputes at the source, and open a truly unblocked "green channel" for safeguarding the rights and interests of military personnel, telling a great ¡°Shanghai story¡± of safeguarding the rights and interests of military personnel.
