On January 6, the Shanghai
High People¡¯s Court (SHPC) convened a symposium to solicit opinions and
suggestions from special inspectors and specially invited advisers on the Work
Report of the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court (Draft for Comments) as well as
on the overall work of Shanghai courts. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership
Group and President of the SHPC, attended the meeting. The symposium was

approach in fulfilling their judicial responsibilities, achieving new
breakthroughs in areas such as substantive dispute resolution, digital
empowerment, and inclusive development. They observed that the report is
grounded in data, illustrated through cases, and reasoned with professional
rigor, reflecting an enhanced political stance, a strong sense of
responsibility, a high standard of quality and effectiveness, and a
human-centered approach. Participants also put forward specific suggestions for
revising the work report and offered recommendations on further improving the
courts¡¯ work.
President Jia Yu noted that in the past year, special inspectors
and specially invited advisers diligently performed their oversight duties with
a high sense of responsibility and professionalism. They have promptly
reflected social conditions and public sentiment, contributing their wisdom and
strength to advancing the high-quality development of the work of Shanghai
courts.
He expressed the hope that the special inspectors and specially
invited advisers will continue to leverage their strengths in staying close to
the people, representing public opinion, and pooling public wisdom; take the
initiative to engage with the courts to gain a deeper understanding of judicial
work; reach out to local communities and stay in contact with the people;
convey public voices and promote the rule of law; and work jointly to achieve
new progress across all aspects of the work of Shanghai courts.
He remarked that the SHPC will carefully review and study the
above opinions and suggestions, effectively incorporate them into specific
measures, and further improve the work of the courts.
At the symposium, Vice
President Lu Weimin briefed attendees on the main contents of the Work Report
