On the morning of January 27, the
Shanghai High People¡¯s Court (SHPC) hosted the ninth session of the ¡°Shanghai
Court Lectures,¡± inviting Professor Li Zhiyong from the Department of
Scientific Socialism at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National
Academy of Governance) to deliver a special lecture titled ¡°The Founding and
Development of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.¡± The lecture was
attended by court judicial officers and staff across Shanghai. Jia Yu,
Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the SHPC, was present.
Also in attendance were members of the Party Leadership Group, other senior
court leaders, and bureau-level officials of the SHPC. Court judicial officers
and staff from across the municipality participated either in person at the
main venue of the SHPC or via video link at
sub-venues located in intermediate and primary-level courts. Participants of
the Second Special Seminar for Section-Level and Above Officials of Shanghai
Courts on Studying and Implementing the Guiding Principles of the Fourth
Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee attended from the
sub-venue at the Shanghai Judges Training Center. Representatives from the
Shanghai People¡¯s Procuratorate and the Shanghai Bar Association attended the
event as well.
Professor Li Zhiyong systematically
examined the historical trajectory, core tenets, and practical achievements of
socialism with Chinese characteristics through four thematic dimensions of
¡°Founding Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,¡± ¡°Advancing Socialism with
Chinese Characteristics into the 21st Century,¡± ¡°Upholding and
Developing Socialism with Chinese Characteristics under the New Circumstances,¡±
and ¡°Key Accomplishments and Historical Insights.¡± He comprehensively
articulated that the realization of Chinese modernization is a step-by-step,
progressive, and continuously advancing historical process¡ªone that demands
sustained dedication and successive generations of concerted effort.
This lecture has laid a solid
theoretical foundation and provided a comprehensive perspective and clear
practical guidance for all court judicial officers and staff to gain a deeper
understanding of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese
characteristics, particularly in grasping the essence of the guiding principles
of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Courts
across Shanghai will integrate this learning with the citywide, full-coverage
political training program on the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary
Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, adhering strictly to the
principle of ¡°comprehensive, profound, and accurate¡± understanding. They will
treat the thorough study and effective implementation of the plenum¡¯s guiding
principles as a major political task both at the present and for some time to
come. By enhancing performance through learning and matching commitments with
actions, Shanghai courts are committed to translating the guiding principles of
the plenum into concrete actions that drive high-quality development of their judicial
work.
