On
27 April, the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court held the launch
ceremony and inaugural training session for the ¡°Shanghai Courts Youth Study
Group¡±. Lu Weimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice
President of the High Court, attended and delivered a speech. The ceremony was
also attended by officials from the High Court¡¯s General Office and members of
the Group.
At
the ceremony, the Director of the Office outlined the background, formation and
work plan of the Group; the Deputy Director of the Office delivered a training
session on general document drafting for all members; and member
representatives gave presentations based on their respective roles.
Vice
President Lu Weimin extended his congratulations on the establishment of the Group
and welcomed all its members. He expressed the hope that the Group would,
guided by the principles of ¡°political guidance, serving the overall interests,
in-depth study and implementation, and integration and continuous improvement¡±,
establish itself as a centre for learning and research in the fields of
comprehensive drafting and foreign affairs liaison, as well as a base for the
cultivation of professional talent. He emphasised the need to gain a profound
understanding of the positioning of ¡°Shanghai Courts¡±, to continuously
strengthen the study of political theory, and to integrate Xi Jinping¡¯s
thoughts on the rule of law, Xi Jinping¡¯s diplomatic thought, and the various
policy decisions of the Central Committee, the Municipal Party Committee and
the Supreme People's Court of P.R.C. into the entire process of research and
study; he also stressed the importance that ¡°youth¡±, as the core, should play
to their exemplary role so that they ¡°dare to innovate¡± and ¡°dare to shoulder
responsibilities¡±; a systematic approach should be applied to the ¡°study¡±
pathway to strengthen the cultivation of professional competencies, with emphasis
on practical training, and integration of research, study and practice to
advance them as a unified whole; efforts should be made to fully leverage the
¡°collective¡± advantage, strengthen unity and cohesion to build the Group into a
¡°community of growth¡± for young judicial officers and a ¡°stronghold¡± for
overcoming difficulties.
The
¡°Shanghai Courts Youth Study Group¡± was established to better adapt to the
changing times, address professional challenges, and create a platform for
identifying, nurturing and effectively utilizing talent in the judicial and
administrative sectors. Following a rigorous selection process, 60 members have
been chosen as the inaugural cohort of the Group.
