On June 15, the 2026 Hengshi Forum ¡¤ Symposium and the Appointment Ceremony of the First Group of Members for the International Commercial Expert Committee of Shanghai International Commercial Court (SICC) were held at the SICC. Zhu Zhongming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee; Jia Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court; and Jiang Ping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai Law Society, attended the event and delivered speeches. Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, delivered a video address. The event was moderated by Wu Jinshui, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai First Intermediate People¡¯s Court.

Mr. Zhu Zhongming noted that efforts should consistently focus on serving national strategies, continue to build a ¡°golden brand,¡± strengthen talent development, and continuously enhance the overall effectiveness of high-quality international commercial dispute resolution services. He emphasized the importance of striving to build a first-class commercial judicial platform that radiates across the country and aligns with international standards, and of generating more pioneering institutional achievements, landmark judicial cases, and leading trial mechanisms, so as to provide high-quality judicial guarantees for high-level institutional opening-up. He hoped that the expert committee members would fully leverage their professional expertise and influence to jointly promote the diversified and efficient resolution of international commercial disputes.

President Jia Yu stressed the need to make the most of the expert committee, strengthen its institutional development, and improve the support mechanisms for experts to perform their duties; to keep refining the international commercial trial system, and learn from the practices and experiences of both domestic and international commercial courts; and to deepen the cooperation mechanisms for international commercial dispute resolution and enhance regular coordination with renowned universities and research institutions both at home and abroad, so as to jointly cultivate internationally first-class foreign-related legal talents.

During the event, President Jia presented letters of appointment to the first cohort of 20 expert committee members. President Wu Jinshui released the expert committee¡¯s procedural rules and read out the appointment decisions. Eight expert committee members delivered keynote speeches.
