On July 8, Jia Yu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and President of the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court, conducted a research visit to the Jing¡¯an District People¡¯s Court. Zhong Xiaoyong, Secretary of Jing¡¯an District Party Committee; Gu Yunhao, Director of the Standing Committee of the District People¡¯s Congress; Wang Xiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Secretary of the District Politics and Law Committee; and Sun Jing, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and President of the Jing¡¯an District People¡¯s Court attended the research activity.

President Jia Yu spoke highly of the achievements made by the Jing¡¯an District People¡¯s Court in all work areas and put forward requirements for follow-up work: First, raise standards and build distinctive brands in serving the overall interests of the country. Deepen and refine featured brands such as elderly-related trials, and continuously explore innovative institutional mechanisms concerning voluntary guardianship and judicial appointment of estate administrators, so as to provide valuable experience for courts across Shanghai. Second, consolidate strengths and deepen institutional mechanisms to address the strain of heavy caseloads amid insufficient judicial staff. Actively explore and apply new artificial intelligence technologies, accelerate the development of high-quality application scenarios, and contribute more insights to the transformation into smart courts. Third, enforce strict and pragmatic team development with rigorous supervision and sincere care for personnel. Step up training of high-caliber judicial professionals, deepen university-court cooperation to forge a collaborative talent cultivation brand, and foster high-level legal professionals.

At the meeting, the Jing¡¯an District People¡¯s Court reported on its basic work performance in the first half of the year, its three-track case diversion system, intensive work mechanisms, and featured brand initiatives.

Prior to the meeting, President Jia Yu and his entourage inspected on-site facilities including the Jing¡¯an Comprehensive Social Governance Center, the Mediation Center of the Case Filing Division of the Jing¡¯an District People¡¯s Court, and the Intensive Center for Auxiliary Judicial Affairs.
