On the morning of July 16, the Shanghai High People¡¯s Court (SHPC) convened the Shanghai Courts¡¯ Conference on Party Building and the opening ceremony of the Special Demonstration Training Program on Fostering and Practicing a Correct View of Job Performance. The meeting served to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, convey and enforce the guiding principles from relevant meetings of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and the Supreme People¡¯s Court on Party building and on fostering and practicing a correct view of job performance, so as to ensure that all work of the Shanghai courts gets off to a solid start and sets a leading example in the first year of the 15^th Five-Year Plan period. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the SHPC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Also in attendance were members of the Party Leadership Group, other court leaders, and bureau-level officials of the SHPC and Shanghai Intermediate People¡¯s Courts; members of the Party Leadership Group of all district people¡¯s courts and the Shanghai Railway Transportation Court; President of the PLA Shanghai Military Court; heads of all SHPC departments; and all Party members of the SHPC General Office.

At the meeting, President Jia Yu put forward three requirements for Shanghai court staff to further calibrate their view of job performance, strictly abide by disciplinary rules, and enhance their competence in performing their duties. First, they should thoroughly grasp the core connotations and practical requirements of a correct view of job performance, and serve the overall interests and benefit the people through tangible judicial outcomes. Second, they should draw lessons from warning cases, prevent and rectify any deviations in the view of job performance, and firmly uphold the correct view of job performance as the fundamental guiding principle. Third, they should adhere to the guidance of Party building, continue to follow the working guideline of ¡°political development as the guide, judicial quality and efficiency as the foundation, and digital reform as the driver,¡± and drive high-quality development of court work through robust Party building.

Lu Weimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the SHPC, conveyed the guiding principles from President Zhang Jun¡¯s address at the People¡¯s Courts¡¯ Conference on Party Building and the court-system study and discussion session of the Special Seminar for Leading Political and Legal Officials.
