On
August 27, the Shanghai High People's Court (SHPC) held a mobilization and
deployment meeting to deepen the special campaign against organized crime and
vice for Shanghai courts. Jia Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and
President of the SHPC, attended and delivered a speech. Other attendees
included members of the Party Leadership Group of the SHPC and leaders of the
SHPC, as well as principal leaders and leaders in charge of intermediate- and
primary-level courts, responsible persons of the Office of the SHPC for the
Special Campaign Against Organized Crime and Vice, and responsible persons of
various departments of the SHPC.

Jia Yu stressed that carrying out the deepened special campaign against
organized crime and vice is a deepened punishment action based on the regular
campaign against organized crime and vice and in response to new trends and new
characteristics of organized crime and vice, and it has great practical
significance and far-reaching strategic significance. Courts across the city
should raise their political stance, resolutely shoulder the major political
responsibility of deepening the special campaign against organized crime and
vice, and, standing at the height of politics and the overall situation,
advance all work of the special campaign in accordance with the law and with
full force. They should strictly meet the requirements, perform their duties in
accordance with the law, focus closely on key tasks and make precise efforts,
and ensure that the special campaign achieves practical results. They should
strengthen overall coordination, adhere to the leadership of Party committees,
press down responsibilities level by level, and strengthen coordination and
linkage, so as to combine precise strikes with long-term governance and keep
advancing the special campaign in depth.
