On June 30, the Forum of Justices of Local
Courts of China-SCO Countries was held in Shanghai. Shen Liang, Vice President
of the Supreme People¡¯s Court, Jia Yu, President of the Shanghai High People¡¯s
Court, Zheng Qing, President of the Zhejiang High People¡¯s Court, Mao Ronghua,
President of the Guizhou High People¡¯s Court, and Dilixiati Shayimu, President
of High People¡¯s Court of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, attended and
delivered speeches. More than 100 participants attended the forum, including
representative Justices from local courts of six countries Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan¡ªas well as judicial
representatives from courts in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guizhou, and Xinjiang,
China, and relevant personnel from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)
Secretariat.
In his remarks, Shen Liang, Vice President
of the Supreme People¡¯s Court, noted that the convening of this forum is a
concrete measure to implement the guiding principles of President Xi Jinping¡¯s
address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Tianjin Summit, as well
as the outcomes of the 20th Meeting of the Supreme Court Presidents of SCO
Member States. The forum aims to further promote the exchange of judicial
experience among local courts of SCO member states and to enrich the judicial
cooperation mechanisms among SCO member states. Chinese courts stand ready to
work together with local courts of all member states to continuously carry
forward the ¡°Shanghai Spirit,¡± deepen practical cooperation, jointly deliberate
on development strategies, promote mutual benefit and win-win outcomes,
steadily deepen judicial exchanges and cooperation within the SCO framework,
and contribute greater judicial wisdom and strength to the advancement of
lasting world peace and shared prosperity.
Jia Yu, President of the Shanghai High
People¡¯s Court, put forward three proposals at the forum: to strengthen
exchanges and mutual learning in talent development among member states¡¯
courts; to deepen the sharing and application of scientific and technological
achievements; and to expand both the breadth and depth of judicial cooperation.
The forum featured three sub-forums on the themes of ¡°Judge Training,¡± ¡°Judicial Application of Artificial Intelligence,¡± and ¡°Judicial Safeguards for Cross-Border Trade and Optimization of the Rule-of-Law Business Environment.¡± The Justices of local courts from participating countries engaged in extensive discussions on each topic in an open, friendly, and mutually trusting atmosphere, actively proposing new initiatives and measures, and jointly exploring new pathways for judicial exchange and cooperation.
